The Book No Pope Would Want You To Read
The Book No Pope Would Want You To Read
One reason I take my work seriously is because children and other innocents suffer mightily from the effects of religious fanaticism and abuse of authority. In this technological age, such abuse is finally being exposed and, hopefully, stopped to whatever extent possible at this point.

Why are young people leaving religion in droves?
Why are young people leaving religion in droves?
Gee, I dunno. Maybe because the standard religious practices globally are irrational, illogical, ineffective, intolerant, bigoted, sexist, divisive, hateful, cruel and violent?

Can't say I'm upset! Let the increasing "nones" have the day for a change. Other than a brief period when I became a born-again, I've been a "none" since I emancipated myself from church when I was 12. That's decades ago, so I guess I'm ahead of the curve, influenced at a young age by the secular American Founding Fathers such as Jefferson, Franklin and Paine (the "forgotten" FF).

Since there remains much confusion about this artifact, I have updated my old article on the subject. Please feel free to pass it around or link it wherever you see a discussion of the shroud.

Like most people in the U.S., I keep hearing "O Holy Night" and so on, so I also keep thinking about my renditions. Enjoy!

A very important article by my friend Dr. Tawfik Hamid, an Egyptian ex-radical Muslim activist.

I found this comparison to be very intriguing. I always wonder how old a motif is, and this one may be very old indeed. I am quite curious about what myths people took with them as they fanned out around the globe, including and especially into the Americas.
