well, yes and no. It's been more obvious since the 90's perhaps, but it goes back way before that. I agree with you that it doesn't matter what delusion the higher-ups are prone to, it's crazy either way. It seems mankind has an irresistible urge to "suck the finger" whenever it can. Frankly, metaphysics is too airy for me, I like to keep it concrete as much as I can.
Speaking of which, I too have a little one and yes, I want her to live in a saner world. But I'm not sure fomenting fear and paranoia is the answer. A terrified people is more easily manipulated. Not to mention it impairs your immune system.
I watch her play with brown, yellow, black kids, and I see children having fun with no concern whatsoever for each other's faith or skin tone. Study is always good, obviously. Including studying the situation beyond one particular quote, regardless of where it comes from. I do not concur with the war in Iraq. It's a horrible thing. I don't believe that Saddam Hussein was a humanitarian either.
