Easter: The Resurrection of Spring

I have posted an illustrated article entitled "Easter: The Resurrection of Spring" that you may enjoy! This article is an excerpt from my new book Christ in Egypt: The Horus-Jesus Connection.

Easter: The Resurrection of Spring
by Acharya S/D.M. Murdock

Although it is believed to represent the time of Jesus Christ's resurrection, the festival of Easter existed in pre-Christian times and, according to the famous Christian saint Venerable Bede (672-735 AD/CE), was named for the Teutonic or German goddess EĆ“stre, who was the "goddess of dawn" and who symbolized the fertility found abundantly during the springtime of the year....

The "Christos" is not only the sun triumphing over the darkness as the day becomes longer than the night, but it is also the sun's light in the moon, as the moon waxes and wanes monthly.... In any event, the deity reborn or raised up at the vernal equinox or springtime is a recurring theme not representing a "historical" personage but, rather, a natural phenomenon, i.e., Spring.

I just ordered my package of the two books -- what a great deal and a wonderful Easter present. Thanks! The new title you are working on, on fanaticism, sounds extremely exciting. I can hardly wait.

Thanks, sweetheart!

Take a look at that Easter Special page again. I think you'll see something familiar there.

Interestingly, I was just forwarded an article called "Scholar Claims Dead Sea Scrolls 'Authors' Never Existed." It deals with the fictional history of the Essenes. I expected the article to cite you, since I had read "Suns of God" which is where I first read about how spurious the Essene tales are. Instead, the article says the claim is made by "Israeli Scholar Rachel Elior." I think you deserve some recognition, but at least the information is getting out there!

Happy Spring. :)

Thanks! My books may be academia's "dirty little secret." I have this image of professors sitting at their desks hiding my books behind their open Playboy magazines...

heh heh

Wow, it is a great honor to have a testimonial on Acharya's website. My two books arrived today -- I now own the complete collection, as well as some ebooks and other assorted articles. I firmly believe that Acharya is dead on and applaud her in her work. I know that when doing this type of research one must endure vicious attacks from all directions, even from supposed colleagues. I commend the author for her resolve and courage. I firmly believe that Acharya is the Darwin of the 21st century. Like many great authors, she may not even get full recognition until after she is gone. But I assure you that she will be looked upon as someone who helped humanity turn a corner, and as a writer who helped people confront the mythology so embedded in their psyche that they are unable to discern fiction from reality. In the end, hopefully a more rational humanity will evolve -- one that is less violent, and more caring for the Earth and its creatures. Thank you, Acharya.
