Islam: Wholesale Slaughter in the Name of Allah
Islamic "extremists" and "radicals" have recently junked the term "jihad," commonly believed by them to mean "holy war" of the physical, violent kind, in favor of the word "qattal," according to a Pakistani official. Whereas jihad restricted the murder in the name of Islam and the Muslim god Allah to "only" non-Muslims, derogatorily called "infidels" and "kafirs," qattal evidently allows for unending bloodshed of Muslim "innocents," such as competing sects or cults.
Although so-called moderate Muslims repeatedly claim that "Islam does not permit killing of innocents," we know from the "radical" Islamic religious leaders such as Anjem Choudary that the definition of "innocent" is anyone who is Muslim, while non-Muslims are not "innocent" and can be murdered at will.
The Pakistani official discussing this new twist to an old twisted religion, Hasham Baber, stated that it was because of the efforts of "moderate" Muslims to end terrorism in the name of Islam - which they evidently sensibly believe has given Islam a bad name - that the jihadists have decided to change their name. The "moderates" have been trying to define "jihad" as an "inner struggle" to find one's way to God, while, of course, the "true" jihadis have insisted that their god must be appeased with endless bloodshed, terror and horror.
With this new turn of affairs, violent jihadists - now "qattalists?" - will be able to slaughter the moderate Muslims at will as well. Of course, we know from Iraq and the rest of Islamic history that slaughtering Muslims in the name of Islam and Allah has always been on the table, despite constant protests that these "innocents" should not be murdered. Qattal, however, apparently allows this depraved pathology to be deemed "holy," "Islamic" and appropriate behavior in the eyes of the god of Islam.
In regard to this new development of naming Islamic bloodlust and sadism qattal, Pakistani Secretary General Baber also remarked, "Qattal...means I am allowed to kill a Hindu, Christian at will or even a Shia." He further states, "The religious education in Pakistan as whole has degenerated into bloodshed."
This abhorrent situation tends to validate the claim that it is Islam itself which fosters bloodshed, violence and terror. The jihadis/qattalis are quite certain that they are the "true Muslims," while the moderates are no better than the dirty kafirs/kufaars - pejorative terms used by Islamic fanatics to destroy anyone who is not exactly like they are. As many people know by now, the Muslim "holy book," the Koran/Quran, is full of incitement to violence, especially against all non-Muslims. With this new twist, all Muslims who are not violent fanatics can be deemed fair game - as they already have been in reality, but now the qattalists can still be assured of their place in "heaven" for satisfying their bloodlust and that of their god. (Any place filled with these vile human-haters, of course, would be our hell.)
We must be hopeful that the world is growing quite weary of this despicable behavior committed for many centuries in the name of Islam and Allah. Yet, such atrocities as the recent bombing of the Danish embassy in Islamabad, demonstrating that cartoons are more offensive than the murder of human beings, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, reveal that the cancer continues to spread.
Also, such utter disgraces as the recent conviction of famed French citizen Brigitte Bardot for "provoking race hatred," when Islam is not a race and Bardot, as a citizen of that nation, clearly has a right to complain about the Islamic destruction of her country and culture, are quite demoralizing for those who are attempting to prevent the death of human civilization.
And then there is the outrage of Muslim women in Algeria and elsewhere imprisoned for being pregnant or giving birth without being married. These women are imprisoned for offending Islam and Allah, but what could be more offensive to a decent god, "sex outside of marriage" - some of these women are rape victims! - or the hideous suffering of innocent women and children, who are ripped away from their mothers to be raised in a mother-loveless situation that will likely produce more hardened, violent Muslims?
In the meantime, the recent willingness of "moderate" Muslims - I put these terms in quotes because they are quite subjective - to rethink Islam constitutes an acknowledgment, however subtle, that it is Islam which is the problem. Again, Islam fosters this violent pathology - and it always has, as it was begun by a violent, murdering and raping warlord. Until there is honest assessment, such as is occurring in Turkey, with scholars there attempting to fashion a truly "moderate" Islam, there will be no containing this mental illness that is gripping a significant portion of the world.
Needless to say, we will require the help of all Muslims of conscience to reject this path of terror, horror and bloodlust in the name of the Arab tribal god Allah and the cult started by the Arab desert nomad. Otherwise, by their mere participation in this "religion of peace" - frequently foisted upon them by violence - moderate Muslims are encouraging these deranged jihadists/qattalists in their evil deeds.

We all know by now that The U.S. , through some of it's "Alphabet Agencies" , was training and backing "Radical Islamists" including Osama Bin Ladin to fight The Russians in Afghanistan. Whose to say there aren't "Fake Christians" creating "Fake Radical Muslims", making yet another "House Of Mirrors". Its more "False Flag" stuff in my opinion. Sincerly, Gary Beavers
No doubt there have been shenanigans on all sides and at every level. However, Islamic fanatics have been destroying the world for many centuries, long before the U.S. even existed as an entity.
All one need do is ask the Hindu Indians about their experiences with Islam. No ability to blame the U.S. or the Mossad or anyone else for Islam's bloody and violent history.
Some 270 MILLION people murdered in the name of Allah. And, yes, of course, we are well aware of the some 250 MILLION murdered in the name of the Judeo-Christian god as well. One does not excuse the other.
Why does terrorism have to be ended in the name of anything? Why can't it just end? This whole thing is just plain sick. I'll take the cartoon over killing someone any day. Besides, a cartoon, even against Islam, is a far better expression than murder.
And what good is jailing a woman for getting pregnant? It won't change the fact she is pregnant, married or not. And really, just how is it a crime? These people are sick and luney.
Hey! Luney, lunacy, lunatic, Lunar... Guess this is what happens when your god is derived from lunar mythology. anti-social, psychosis, psychotic, socialpath. BINGO! Unfortunately, no cure has been found for this mental illness yet.
Well in my opinion due few bad people who are exploiting the name of ISlam/ Muslim are creating bad impression of the religion and muslims in front of others. Islam never teaches to kill people and the word Jehad as defined in the letter is totally in false meaning. Before being commenting on something one should get indepth knowledge of the things to be defined. If we talk about the history then we should also consider many natives who were killed by the people presently now super powers cannot be ignored at the same time.
Um... Shaheen, I think you need to read the Quran or if you have, you need to take another look at it, maybe even a closer look. What you said about not killing people is simply not true, at least not according to the Quran.
Dear shaeen i really wish what you said was true but to no awail.pl read Quran & Al Hadees before you speak about yr marauding philosphy propogated by a power hungryy cunning pedophyle debouch.if you need more guidence pl write back..

most Muslims i'd say 99% do not know Islam.. Islam is the only answer for all human problems. it has nothing to do with sitting in mosques and worshipping...its about establishing a system that benefits all humanity...too many things have been translated and interpreted wrongly .. Islam does not belong to any chosen people.. it is a way of life for everyone...the human intellect will come up with Islam as the answer with their own exprimenting..but Islam gives a solution from God to create paradise on earth...its more about living on earth than hereafter.. Islam is only for those who think day and night how to help humanity at large with science and technology .. it just so happened that a wrong group of ppl claim to be muslims..
Of course. Of course.
And the origin of such Satanism is the same as the origin of Jewish Satanism and Christian Satanism: the contradiction of the Doctrine of "resurrection".
Unless and until it is widely understood that the Doctrine of "resurrection" of Isaiah, Daniel, the Gospels and the Koran is similar to the Buddhist Doctrine of 'Rebirth', this can be expected to not merely continue; but to intensify.
islamism might be now in their middle ages, just like our middle ages, 600/700 years ago. they have their form of inquisition (by bombing), they have their crusades (9/11), etc.
i hope that a new "renaissance" might arise in this century or else...

I ABSOLUTELY 100% COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY DISAGREE.
On the contrary, Islam is the biggest evil the world has ever faced. It completely strips mankind of his/her humanity. It enslaves the soul. Islam abuses the individual to the Nth degree, including not only women and children but also the men whom it has enslaved.
I honestly don't know what YOU personally are looking at when you make such a preposterous statement, but it ain't Islam! Islam is a cult of death that emanated out of the desert, started by ARAB MEN bent on ARAB CULTURAL IMPERIALISM. The only reason it has thrived is because of BLOODSHED, VIOLENCE, RAPE and now OIL. You shall know it by its fruits, and Islam is NONE of the things you mention.
We as a species have created a hideous situation through our oil addiction - we are now poised on the edge of complete and total enslavement under Islam. The very notion of my descendants being enslaved by this awful cult is terrifying. And make no mistake about it -
ISLAM IS SPIRITUAL TERRORISM.

Of course, I must disagre.
The current Islam is approximately equivalent to the Christianity of the Middle Ages. Christianity was guilty of all of the evils you mention just a few short hundreds of years ago. And, all things remaining the same, in another few short hundreds of years, Islam will be as Christianity is today.
I do not deny the evils you are attempting to point out, although I do have some disagreement with the imprecision of your language and your tone.
But acts of violence against other people are predicated on the assumption that the power relationship will NEVER be reversed.
Men set up vicious institutional policies against women because they assume that they will never BE women; the same goes for racists against other races of people, religious bigots against other religions, the rich against the poor, etc.
The Doctrine of "resurrection" strikes at the very ROOT of such an assumption (and at the *power* of the religious 'authorities'); which is one of the reasons that it is so *determinedly* DENIED by the Jewish, Christian AND Muslim religious 'authorities'.
Buddhism clearly teaches a Doctrine of 'Rebirth'; but this is precisely what the Doctrine of "resurrection" taught by Jesus and Mohammed was *supposed* to have been...and *would* have been were it not for the lying theologians concocting the fantasy of a physical raising of a dead body from the grave.
You need to add the 270 to the 250 and get 520, because the same "god" is behind both, this religion or that religion is only an illusion. Allah, God, Krishna, Buddah, Jesus, Yeshua, etc. are all the same entity.

Um... No. Buddhism promises to be reborn back into this world and once you gain enough karma, you can stop being reborn. The resurrection and alike is not rebirth into this world. It is Christ concurring death, so that those who believe will go onto another world. Mohammad didn't do that, but those who believe in Allah and become enslaved to Allah, mainly men will go onto another world which is mistranslated to virgins. It should have been fruit though. Women are promised nothing.

I think Allah is more like Shiva
Mriana,
Things are much more complicated than you assume.
The Doctrine of "resurrection" is similar to the Buddhist Doctrine of 'Rebirth', regardless of the Kool-aid you may have consumed; which is the ONLY Kool-aid the media will allow to be marketed. So what can be expected? (The refusal to acknowledge this led, first, to the crucifixion of Jesus, then to the suppression of the Gnostics, then to the extermination of the Albigensians, then to the Holocaust, and, next (?) to a full-scale military confrontation between Judaeo-Christian civilization and Islamic civilization.)
It makes no difference that you deny this. You have never even *heard* the contrary argument. Reality is not a function of what you believe or refuse to believe.
"Resurrection" differs from 'Rebirth' in that there is no *escape* from the process by 'gaining enough karma'. That is merely a similar fantasy to the Christian (pagan)metaphysical 'heaven'.
On the contrary, according to the Revelations (but not theology) of monotheism, it is the *earth* that will be redeemed. The entire planet will be transformed into "heaven on earth" once the Truth is finally made known. But this will not happen without a destruction of the works of evil.
There is no 'other world'; that is merely pagan metaphysical philosophy. And, clearly, the Muslim theologians have thoroughly perverted the Revelations in the Koran generally in agreement with what you have suggested, transforming Allah into Shiva, for example.

Kool-aid? *Mriana raises an eyebrow like Spock.* You have no idea what I have studied over the years, so don't assume anything.
The refusal to acknowledge this led, first, to the crucifixion of Jesus, then to the suppression of the Gnostics, then to the extermination of the Albigensians, then to the Holocaust, and, next (?) to a full-scale military confrontation between Judaeo-Christian civilization and Islamic civilization.
I don't think you know what Gnosticism is or even Gnosis for that matter.
On the contrary, according to the Revelations (but not theology) of monotheism, it is the *earth* that will be redeemed. The entire planet will be transformed into "heaven on earth" once the Truth is finally made known. But this will not happen without a destruction of the works of evil.
You are right that there is no other world, for even the Gospel of Thomas tells us this it, but according to Thomas, the kingdom is already here and it is within you. There is no rebirth, but rather a transformation of the person. It is not literal that Jesus will transform Mary into a man, either. The kingdom as well as the Son of God/Man is within the person, which is confirmed by both Thomas and Mary.
The whole focus of the gnostic gospels is on the human and on this world, not some supernatural world or rebirth. The rebirth you speak of is actually a transformation of the human heart and not a rebirth per se. The Gnostic Gospels are in a sense Spiritual Humanism or what I prefer to call Gnostic Humanism. Everything is within the human as well as within the earth/universe itself. Gnosis, is Greek for knowledge or to know (esoteric knowledge of spiritual truth to be exact). Humanism also has a history that goes back to the Greek philosophers too. The only difference is that Humanism rejects supernaturalism, which Gnosticism does not. For Gnosticism the supernatural is here on earth and within the human or as Joseph Campbell liked to say, "We are all Christ crucified". For me that means we crucify each other every day, mostly with our words, but sometimes with violence. For the Gnostics, when when we do these things we are once again crucifying the Christ (within the human). For Humanists, this must be tempered with reason and compassion so that we do not harm each other, without any reference to the supernatural of any sort. Both entail a change of heart as to how we view the human and that is the rebith you speak of in a supernatural form. It is not a perpetual cycle of birth, death, and rebirth into this world again. That is an illusion and infers that there is an external world to this one or some sort of supernaturalistic world connected to this one. If this is truly it, then there is no supernatural rebirth like that of Hinduism or Buddhism.
So before you go spouting off Gnosicism and kool-aid, make sure you understand it and who you are talking to when you spout off about it.
Mriana,
I said Kool-aid because I meant Kool-aid.
Kool-aid. Kool-aid.
You really need to read "Treatise on the Resurrection" more carefully that you have (?).
It talks about 3 resurrections: 1) the physical; 2) the "psychic"; and, 3) the spiritual.
As I explain in my book--no, you have neither understood nor studied these documents as long as I have (nor do you have any direct Knowledge of either the *Vision* of the "Son of man" or the Revelation of the "resurrection")--the physical resurrection is rebirth; the 'psychic' resurrection is the revelation of the memories of previous lives; the spiritual resurrection is the Revelation of the Memory of Creation (the implications of which Revelations I explain in exhausting detail on my science of consciousness website).
In any case, nothing you said in your reply in any way surprises me. Its origin is the 3-dimensional consciousness created by the 'movement' of self-reflection and maintaining the temporal continuity of that 3-dimensional consciousness by the postulation of the thought of the 'thinker'. (In other words, you have no Knowledge of the 2-dimensional, non-spatial "observing consciousness" as described by, among others, Krishnamurti.)
Your second to last paragraph is too juvenile to deserve a reply.
I encourage you to keep studying...
And come back in another 200 lifetimes or so, when it might actually be worth my while to continue this conversation with you.
Mriana,
Oops.
I meant to write 2-dimensional, non-*temporal* "observing consciousness" described by Krishnamurti, among others."
In other words, there is no temporal continuity of the 3-dimensional consciousness without the thought of the 'thinker'. That is, without the postulation of the thought of the 'thinker', the 3-dimensional consciousness continually threatens to *collapse* into the 2-dimensional space of the consciousness Created 'by and in the image of God' (Genesis 1:27). And,thus, the consciousness of the "I" or the 'thinker' is the consciousness of 'the Fall'. (See, also The Hypostasis of the Archons in the Nag Hammadi Codices.)
Krishnamurti? I doubt he'd be interested in your twaddle.
Better take some meds, dude.
lol Oh Anon, if only there were meds for what ails him. So far I have not heard of meds for his condition.
The greatest barrier for a human that bans him/her from seeing the truth is his approach with prejudice.” I would add to this: “ & cultural baggage” – this is true for an Arab or a Westerner as much as it is for an Asian, or anybody else.
Mohammed (pbuh), who informed the Deen-i Islam, rejects the idea of a GOD and emphasizes that there is no GOD; only “ALLAH” exists, based on the Quran al Karim...
Here’s why … (b.t.w. what follows is not my explanation, some words are mine but mainly I have used other sources for the detail which I found enlightening and never met anyone or heard anobody explain in such fine details before).
What is God?
There is a version of GOD in the minds of everybody, of almost all from the most primitive to the civilized.
It is such a GOD that we love at times or feel angry with, at other times. There are even times when we judge him when disasters strike us. We declare he is in the sky above us or maybe some other places of outer space! Some times we say his home is a Mosque or a temple and so and so forth.
Some other people however, argue that there cannot be such a “GOD” as in people’s imagination, in reality, and claim that “they do not believe in God.” Such people are therefore called “godless” or “atheist.”
Though in fact, neither atheists who do not recognize a god, nor those who had an image of GOD in their minds in association with what they heard about and were preconditioned, are aware of ALLAH at all!
Therefore, assuming that the concept of a “God” is the same as “ALLAH”, people substitute a concept of “God” for “ALLAH” in a manner of as if making something similar or better. In fact, what they do is right as they are indeed speaking about the image of THEIR “GODS” in their minds rather than “ALLAH” and the true concept of “ALLAH”.
Yet the Quran says …
“They did not understand ALLAH with the understanding due to ALLAH” (22:74)
“There is nothing like Him, and He is all Hearer, the All-Seer” (42:11)
signifies our negligence about this fact...
What is Allah?
While all other names given to a god denote a “concept of deity”, only the word “ALLAH” denotes that Unique Being for it is a proper noun for that Being.
Hence, none of the words implying a concept of deity can be replaced with the word “ALLAH”...
If a person imagines or assumes the presence of a separate “being” associated with “ALLAH”, no matter what term of address or conception it is given when “ALLAH” is mentioned, that is a Being known with this proper noun and is free from any concept of a “fragment” (juzz), he/she will fall into a state of polytheism (shirk), that is associating partners with ALLAH. In such a case, he/she will have acknowledged a “GOD” because of veiling the truth of “ALLAH”...
The following is the sign, in the Quran, to warn such a person against such a state:
“SET UP NO GOD BESIDES ALLAH, lest you incur disgrace and ruin... (17:22)
Here is another warning about the same situation:
“INVOKE NO GOD WITH ALLAH” (28:88).
It is meant that as the true Absolute Being that exists is “ALLAH”, you should avoid acting heedlessly toward the meaning of concept “ALLAH” and from falling into the state of setting up a “GOD” through assuming the Being denoted through the name “ALLAH” as a “god afar off you”...
Through the acceptance of a god out there or afar off you, you will unintentionally get out of the meaning of the concept “ALLAH” and will be locked in a “god” image...
As a consequence, you will make yourself deprived of the “unity” (wahdat) comprehension that the Quran al Karim informs!
This will be “the greatest oppression (zulm) done onto your own soul”!..
The last Messenger, Hazrat Mohammed aleyhessalam (peace and blessings be upon him) proclaimed as a result of the Divine Inspiration (wahey) that he was the Rasul of Allah and he began to do his best to warn people not to worship a god...
The reality that Hazrat Mohammed emphasized and began with suggesting to men through the message as “THERE IS NO GOD, THERE IS ONLY ALLAH” (La ilaha ill-Allah) was formulated as the Word of Oneness (Kalimat-it tawhid).
The meaning of the statement “La ilaha ill-Allah” constitutes the basis of Islam.
“La ilaha ill-Allah” can be interpreted simply as; “there is no god, there is only ALLAH.”
If we analyze the meaning of each word:
La ilaha: “La” means “there is no"; “ilah” means “god,” that is “a being to be worshipped.” Hence, “la ilaha” means “there is no being to be worshipped.”
Now, let us pay attention to this fact at this point: The “Word of Oneness” begins with “La ilaha” and so, a definite degree is emphasized right in the beginning: “There is no being to be worshipped” (LA ILAHA).
Then, ill-Allah follows as an explanation: “illa” meaning “only,” “ALLAH.” It does not even say, “there is ALLAH"; it simply says “only ALLAH.”
This is the fact revealed from this statement first as a primary meaning: “There is no god to worship!”
After definitely stating that there is no god somewhere away to worship, “illa ALLAH” follows.
The word “illa” can be understood as “ONLY” in its usage here.
When using “illa” with the word “ALLAH,” it must be definitely understood as “ONLY"; because there is no other existence apart from “ALLAH” that ALLAH could be compared with it, or could be measured and defined in connection with it. This is the key.
It is because of this reason that if the word “illa” comes in connection with the name “ALLAH,” it must always be translated as “ONLY.”
From this point of view, the translation of the Word of Oneness into English should not be as “there is no god but ALLAH,” but “there is no god, ONLY ALLAH.”
Only after then that the concept of wahdat (UNITY - ONENESS), which is the system [fundamental principal] of thought and belief that the Deen of Islam informs, should be grasped accordingly.
This statement informs that there exists only “ALLAH” and ALLAH is not a god to worship. Because it is definitely stated at the beginning that “la ilaha” — there is no being to be worshipped!
Therefore, what is informed through the noun ALLAH is not a GOD outside human that to be worshipped, nor a GOD-afar-off, outside, far away from all existing things that we perceive they are there!
If we precisely understand that “ALLAH is AHAD,” we will then see through insight (basirat) that there is not a duality of “an ALLAH” and “a separate universe” all aside!
That is to say, it is not such that there is ALLAH and also there are universes [that exist independently]!
In other words, such a consideration as there are some universes we live in, the cosmos (alam), and there is a separate GOD-out-of-all-things and at the farther side, is absolute nonsense!
MOHAMMED's ALLAH is not a GOD!
MOHAMMED's ALLAH is “AHAD!”
The “ONENESS” (tawhid) principal in Islam that is the BELIEF SYSTEM notified by Mohammed aleyhessalaam that “THERE IS NO GOD TO WORSHIP, there is ONLY “ALLAH” who is AHAD, and therefore no GOD ever existed,” is based on the fact that every person will be responsible for the result of his actions that are carried out through himself all through his lifetime.
Accordingly, the following signs in the Quran emphasize that every person will directly receive the return of his own deeds:
“And that man shall have nothing save only that for which he made effort.” (53:39)
“You are requited nothing save what you did” (37:39)
“You are rewarded nothing except for your deeds.” (36:54)
“And for all there are degrees from what they do, that HU may pay them for their deeds and they shall not be wronged” (46:19)
“Most surely you will taste the painful punishment-, this you will be responded nothing save what you did” (37:39)
Since man will see only the return of practices he or she has done in this world as seen from the signs above, it must be the most urgent task for a man to make investigation about life beyond death and to understand what “ALLAH” means!
When Mohammed aleyhessalaam was asked the question, what is ALLAH, the answer was directly given by “ALLAH” in the Chapter of ONENESS (Sura Ikhlas) in the Quran:
“Say that: ALLAH is AHAD,
ALLAH is SAMED,
LAMYALID and LAMYULAD,
And LAMYAKUN LAHU QUFUWAN, AHAD.”
I think this is sufficient for today, suffice to say that no other religion describes God in such manner and as distinctly as Allah is described in the Quran, particularly Sura Ikhlas.
The deep and rich meaning of Sura Ikhlas on describing what Allah is for another day, Inshallah. It is truly magnificent.
In the meantime keep Serving Allah by serving His creation and truly follow the tenets of Islam to reach your full potential.
It should be obvious by now that I have NO INTEREST in the Arab interpretation of God as found in the Koran and called "Allah," no matter how you define "HIM."
The god of the Koran is a sexist monster made up by the men who wrote the Koran and devised to justify all of their crimes against humanity, including the severe abuse of women and non-Muslims.
So, all of your Islamic proselytizing falls on very deaf ears here. Whatever apology you devise, I will never be interested in following Islam. As Wafa Sultan says, I criticize Islam, because Islam attacks me.
How can one feel anger with something that is equivalent to the Tao? If one puts no human concept on IT and views IT as having no form or gender and IT does not intervene in human affairs as most religions imagine their god does, then how can one be angry with it?
Seems to me, once people put a human concept to what has no words in the human language to describe it, then people enslave their concept as well as become a slave to it. Once people place any human words on their deity, it is not longer God, but only a human concept. Lastly, when people do that, they seem to neglect what is within each and every individual, thereby placing less value on the person and more value on an unreal concept. This unreal concept gets the blamed for many things that human beings do and is the brunt of human anger to others.
This makes no sense to me. I think it is far better for people to avoid placing any labels on what is truly indescribable. Even better than that, stop placing blame on something that is within each and everyone of us, because in reality, people are still blaming other humans, yet they attempt to remove blame by placing blame on a concept that doesn't even exist.
If you don't understand what I'm trying to say, try studying and reading the Taoists texts. Those are the closest texts to explain what I am saying. Granted I sound vague, but there is no way to explain the unexplainable without changing what it really is. How does the Taoist saying go? Something like, "To place words on the Tao is to not describe the Tao at all." Something like that. If you place words on IT you are not describing it all and it is far better to be vague than to put a concept on IT that people can fight over.
dear acharya,
i sometimes wonder why you dont recommend people to read edward said's 'orientalism'... i mean then you might be able to begin to get a reasonable debate about what islam is, about who the arabs are etc..
given the hundred years of essentially hate speech perpetrated by the colonizers as well as religious fanatics on side with the colonizers...
it stands to reason that words like 'infidels' appear in translations (by the orientalists of course) that picture muslims as frothing at the mouth just waiting to kill any soft spoken jew or christian or atheist..or anyone else for that matter..
only to discover with good reading and discussion with good ordinary muslims.. that 'infidel' is a totally wrong translation for a word that means more like 'unbeliever' or 'barbarian'...unbeliever in what? unbeliever in 'peace' or 'islam' 'barbarian' surely means'someone who wants to kill you' its just common sense to resist such people and to kill them if necessary...but always in order to restore 'peace'
that is to say in actual islam as opposed to what is filtered thru the orientalist propaganda.. islam is happy to enter into dialogue with aetheists, christians, jews anyone..indeed this has been the history of islam and its greatness.. tolerance was a virtue in islam way for almost a thousands years before john locke thought it was a good idea!
but lets think why now? why re- ignite old falsehoods and prejudices...it makes sense when the US and perhaps the UK too wish to maintain a stronger hold on the world oil output..remember saddam wanted to unite the middle east and charge more for oil...(the US is doing that now thank GOD)
lets face it...if we find huge deposits of oil in kashmir tomorrow..or in northern ireland...or in somalia...or in tibet...there will be bloodbaths and theories to the effect that the religons of the people who reside there are basically barbaric, stupid, and anti-social...and look at them...how dare they set off car-bombs or suicide-bomb themselves when we're happy to do 100,000 times worse with the flik of a switch at 30,000 ft.
lets keep filming them blowing themselves up and a few invaders to boot just so we can do the push button thing again...its big business...in fact its bull rush..even the arabs are buying our weapons now.. and maybe when they start killing their own people because we demand them to - our tv watchers getting too agitated about it so gotta do something right - but if the arab leaders get a bit trigger-happy killing their own people, our tv watchers want justice again...so hey we gotta get our jet helmets on one more time and push more buttons so we can sell more bombs...really its a hell of a way to make a living. you can sell to both sides and kill both ways and still keep sellin..all the way to the bank..
but lets face it...who would ever find out...when we have such wonderful propaganda telling us who these evil people are...
mothers and children blowin themselves up...my GOD what is the world coming to..
but that's right...they believe we're infidels yes that's why they do it...not for the 100,000 recently killed in bombings...oh no no no, not for their relatives vanishing in a split second...
just lets remember one thing...the 'red scare'- who produced at book claiming that the reds were behind every terrorist organization in the world? (the CIA) and it caused the cold war...
whose telling people that muslim are crazy fanatics that want to eat your children and want to take over the world? (.......)
really, acharya...we know you are intelligent and you do have feelings so why do you parade your ignorance?
This is pure propaganda. Honestly, out of nearly 1.5 billion Muslims, u choose to take a handful to represent Islam and your information is lacking facts. I think u need to do more research before u commit to such writing.
Islam is a religion of peace. Jihad in not equal to holy war as with the misconception u have.I am actively engaged in Jihad. I do not kill people. But what I do is strive to make myself a better person, a better father, husband, friend, to help others, not to be arrogant, care for my parents and all other good. This is because Jihad means Struggle and its widest application is one ones self to pure oneself of evil and embrace in good. I live in a Muslim country but I dont know even one person who goes and kills in the name of Islam. So people beware of all this false propaganda and misconceptions. People spread this because they dont want u to know about the real islam. Cause had u know u would embrace it. And that is also what is happening. Islam is the fastest growing religion. Even in Europe and the US. Interestingly out of the converts to Islam in the US, majority of them are women. Why? People especially women from the most liberal state is taking up this religion of so called violence, brutality and women abusing. Who's sword is forcing them?
Sorry, but I've heard all of YOUR propaganda before. All I need to do is look at the Muslim world to know that what I write is true. You have been brainwashed. Islam is only growing quickly because of the reproduction FORCED upon the women its men have enslaved.
Here's just one little atrocity in the long list of Islamic horrors the world has been subjected to:
Widow, 75, sentenced to 40 lashes
Yeah, Islam is GREAT for women. Please don't insult my intelligence. You are simply a mouthpiece for the criminals who want to enslave all of us under this sick cult of death.
The list is so long of Muslim atrocities that my fingers would be worn out typing them up. You can find many more at these sites:
The Religion of Peace
Faith Freedom
Islam Watch
Jihad Watch
The Prophet of Doom
Please spare us any more mindless Muslim propaganda. We're too smart here to fall for it.
Anonymous, somehow I just don't believe you. I don't believe Islam is a religion of peace and why should one have to struggle to find peace. That just makes no sense at all. On top of that, I've read the Quran and to me it is a bastardization of the Torah and the Bible, as well as vile. It is the worst thing I've ever read in my life.
To All those who are against Islam.
I dont understand why you peopl keep on going on and on about how islam is a 'problem' and all this stuff that is not true.
Islam is about peace not war and all. Islam will give u war if its what u ask for.
Why and how can you say such harsh things on islam treating females wrong. In some cases yes i admit it too but not all muslim females are treated bad. And you cant say it hasn't happened to christian/jewish women either.
JUST Because there is a few people out there who are Muslims and are bad doesn't make all Muslims bad, its like saying all Christians are bad and are the worst NO!
WE Muslims dont criticise you guys we respect every other religion and we expect the same in return.
Marina, if you have read the Quran how much of it did you really understand??
Anyone can read the Quran but only some understan the meaning of it.
Its ok if you do not want to addmit the truth about what you read because no doubt did you believe most of it,and you were afraid of what you were reading, If you read all the way to the end it shows what has happened in previous years and what is happening and the reasons why all these bad things happening to the world.
I think everyone should leave someone elses religion/beliefs ALONE and mind their own Business, if you dont know much about somthing then no use in even discriminating it, as your only making a fool out of yourself.
I personally do not hate any christian/jew/ non-believer or anyone because every one has the right to their own opinion. BUT you have to keep some things to yourself, as it may be hurtful to others feelings.
Always put yourself in their shoes when you are attacking someone verbaly or phisaclly.
How would you feel if you felt strong towards somthing that you believe in and having someone discriminate it?
We all fight for what we believe in, so respect others beliefs as you wants yours to be respected.
Islam is about peace not war and all. Islam will give u war if its what u ask for. Peace if we submit? Look around! They don't even get along with each other and fight with each other. Do you want to be 1/2 that of a man? Ask your husband to leave the house? Submit to him when ever he wants sex and you don't? That isn't life! That is human degradation. Check out Sharia before you say it's so peaceful.
WE Muslims dont criticise you guys we respect every other religion and we expect the same in return.Criticize Christianity or any other religion. I don't care. There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism.
Marina, if you have read the Quran how much of it did you really understand??More than you realize. I am not stupid and I don't fall for apologetics, not even Christian apologists. I do not allow others to think for me. I think for myself anyone who has read enough of my posts, including Acharya, knows I think for myself and don't allow anyone to do it for me. I feel sorry for those who allow others to think for them and allow themselves to be brainwashed.
Anyone can read the Quran but only some understan the meaning of it. That's B.S. and allowing others to think for you. Christians say the same thing about the Bible too, but it simply not true. IMO, you have been filled with a lot of baloney.
Its ok if you do not want to addmit the truth about what you read because no doubt did you believe most of it,and you were afraid of what you were reading, If you read all the way to the end it shows what has happened in previous years and what is happening and the reasons why all these bad things happening to the world.lol They say that of the Bible, but in all honesty, both the Bible and the Quran are human creations. Rewritten mythology, set to a specific culture. Boy, you really did buy it all, hook, line and sinker, didn't you?
I think everyone should leave someone elses religion/beliefs ALONE and mind their own Business, if you dont know much about somthing then no use in even discriminating it, as your only making a fool out of yourself.Religious criticism is a necessity to help keep people from getting too brainwashed and assist them in thinking for themselves. What makes one look like a fool is not thinking for themselves, not criticizing religion. Religious criticism is a must or we'll all be back in the Dark Ages again.
I personally do not hate any christian/jew/ non-believer or anyone because every one has the right to their own opinion. BUT you have to keep some things to yourself, as it may be hurtful to others feelings. And allow others to live in a delusion that could send us back to the Dark Ages, where women were slaves to their husbands? Other people in general were slaves to the males in control? I don't think so. I have no gods and no masters, thank you. I take full responsibility for my body and no man is going to control me or my body. Thank you very much.
Always put yourself in their shoes when you are attacking someone verbaly or phisaclly.
How would you feel if you felt strong towards somthing that you believe in and having someone discriminate it?As a Humanist, it happens a lot- mostly out of ignorance about Humanism. Do I allow it to affect me? I haven't yet and no, I do not worship humans. Religious criticism is not discrimination. It is pointing out reason in light of unreason. Religion is not THE race. Those are separate things. Just as religion and government must be kept separate, so should religion and one's so called race. However, there is only one race- the human race and we must treat other with equality and dignity. Religious mythology does neither.
